    The Cincinnati Police Department utilizes the services of several web-based community policing organizations in an effort to increase awareness, keep citizens connected, and keep our communities safer. Through partnership with these organizations, CPD hopes to keep residents aware of ongoing and unsolved criminal events in individual neighborhoods throughout the city.

    Citizen Observer is a web-based notification toolset used by law enforcement agencies that enables citizens to receive and respond to text, email, and web alerts–all free of charge.

    CPD on Twitter Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What is happening right now? CPD posts brief messages with links to Citizen Observer alerts on Twitter – it's a great way to quickly scan what is happening in your neighborhood in terms of criminal activity.

    Crime Reports is the recognized world leader in online crime mapping tools, with over 600 law enforcement partners across North America, and now features sex offender data for all 50 states.

    CPOP is a program that attempts to solve community problems through a partnership between the employees of the City and the residents of Cincinnati. The day-to-day business of operating the City is the responsibility of the City Manager, the chief administrator of the City appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The City Manager is responsible for providing and maintaining the essential City services through the efficient and effective management and operation of the City. The City provides many basic services to the citizens of Cincinnati, including fire and police protection, solid waste management, recreational activities, greenspace management, community and economic development, water and sewer management, and maintenance of the public infrastructure.

The City Manager delegates responsibility and coordinates the many tasks performed daily by City employees. The Mayor and City Council determine policies and set direction for the City through legislative measures, but the execution of policy is the paramount responsibility of the City Manager. The City Manager executes the policy direction set by the Mayor and City Council through the management of 17 City departments and approximately 6,500 employees.

The Cincinnati City Council is the City's legislative body. The popularly elected city council is responsible for enacting ordinances, imposing taxes, making appropriations, establishing policy, and hiring some city officials. The council adopts the local general plan, zoning, and subdivision ordinance. The Mission of the Cincinnati City Council is to provide, in a democratic and transparent manner, efficient and effective services which will make Cincinnati a better place in which to live, work and play.

The Westwood Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation's (WestCURC) mission is to actively facilitate economic, social, and cultural development in our community. We focus on real estate development, beautification, promotion, and collaboration. WestCURC is currently working on both residential and commercial real estate projects.
